The clouds, the sun, all buildings, grass, and interactive objects are all alive and have their own moods.

Social-game developer King will release physics-based puzzler Papa Pear Saga on mobile this fall.

King, which is best known for the incredibly popular match-3 puzzle game Candy Crush Saga, released Papa Pear Saga on Facebook in March. Papa Pear Saga quickly shot up the charts and currently has 4 million daily active players on the social network.

“Papa Pear Saga is different to any of our other games,” King chief executive Riccardo Zacconi said in a statement. “It still possesses that core King puzzle quality, but it will be our first mobile Saga game to have a physics element which we think will translate very well to mobile and tablet gameplay. It’s also astonishing to see game plays grow to over 1 billion a day. This is a tenfold increase since our first Saga game launch on mobile this time last year.”

Papa Pear Saga has players firing an elderly, sentient pear at acorns and other objects to remove them from the field of play. It’s nearly identical in structure to developer PopCaps’s beloved 2007 release, Peggle.

Fans of PopCap’s title are still waiting for the developer to release Peggle 2, which it only just announced at the most recent Electronic Entertainment Expo trade show in early June. That long wait left a vacuum, and social-gaming developer King took the opportunity to enter the market with Papa Pear Saga.

King’s puzzler will launch on iOS and Android later this year with 120 levels as a free-to-play game. Papa Pear Saga for mobile will include leaderboards and cloud saves.
